Pros*: *Good distribution.
Cons*: *Expensive setup fee.
*Their contract may or may not be a problem.
*Their royalties are a mystery (but used to be pretty low by industry standards).
*Their site is ridiculously uninformative.
Comments*: The lack of publicly available information is pathetic. If you want to learn anything regarding their services (be it what their royalties are or what kind of contract they offer) you have to contact them directly and talk to a marketing agent that will almost certainly try to sell you as many extras as s/he can con you into. Beware that even their so-called Guide to Book Publishing fails to address these most basic questions.

This is one of several large publishers that were bought by Author Solutions (the others being iUniverse, Trafford and Xlibris)

This publisher used to be known as '1st Books Library'.
The Bottom Line*:

An expensive set-up fee, combined with a lack of anything remotely resembling useful information combine to make this a company you probably want to avoid.
